 Fantastic! Gentle on my wigs' hair December 1, 2008
I love this straightening iron. My own hair is straight as an arrow, but for personal reasons, I've taken to wearing wigs quite often and the hair is not always as easy to manage as my own. Often, it's knotty or gets frizzy at the slight touch of humidity. That's where the CHI comes in. Within a couple minutes, the CHI is heated up and ready to go and I can quickly re-style my wigs or my own hair and have it beautiful and salon-finished at the drop of a hat.
I was expecting some sort of a knob to put the iron at different heat settings, but there was only an on/off switch. Nevertheless, the CHI has never gotten too hot to burn my hair (a big consideration, since I paid about $1000 for my wigs) yet has always gotten hot enough to get the straightening results I needed. I also use it to curl the hair slightly at the ends and have now done away with my curling iron as well! So happy for this product!

I love this flat iron! Ive used so many types of brands and this is by far my favorite one. It leaves my hair silky smooth and shiny! My hair is very curly and once Im done using this product my hair is straight and no one would even know that I have curly frizzy hair. I recommend this product to everyone!

I was hesitant to buy the CHI. However, this iron is the best I have used yet. I have thick, coarse and wavy hair. It gets my hair light and straight. The other iron I had made my hair thick and chunky...you could tell it was ironed straight. It never looked like it looked after I left the salon. This iron delivers! I am suprised at the difference in prices... [.........]. I haven't seen it cheaper anywhere (even black friday deals).

I love, love, LOVED my Chi hair straightener; then it just stopped working. It always worked wonders on my hair, but it wasn't worth the $100+ for only two months. If you buy it online, the warranty is void. Wish someone had told me that. Save some cash and do a little more research on other brands. You're bound to get lucky and find a cheaper product that won't bust after eight weeks.

I expected this flat iron to work much better than it does (especially for the high price).
The blades do not come together completely unless the handles are squeezed very tightly. If the blades are not touching, then the hair is pulled unequally causing some hair to get caught and pulled from the scalp. If you do squeeze the handles tightly to get the blades together, then the hair is pulled from the scalp. So either way it is pulling my hair out.
Another issue I have with this model of flat iron is that there is no temperature control. I have thin hair and do not need the same blazing temperatures that someone with thick hair might need.
I am having difficulty contacting the company to find out if I have a defective product or if this is a feature of this model.
