5 out of 5 stars Does the job   January 6, 2009
Nice compact design that comes in a great little bag for storing it in your car. I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he had to use it a week later when he got a flat tire. It was night time so the light came in very handy.

5 out of 5 stars Great Little Air Compressor   January 2, 2009
I received my Slime Comp06 today and tried it out on my Ford Expedition. I have one tire with a slow leak that needs re-inflating once a week. With my old Sears 12 volt compressor, it took 10 minutes or so to bring the air pressure up to the recommended level (35 psi). With this little jewel it only took about 5 minutes. These are large tires, P265R70/17. It was very quiet, with little vibration. The old Sears compressor would "walk" or vibrate across the garage floor until it reached the end of its short 18 inch hose. This compressor stays where I put it and is much quieter. I like it and recommend it. For the performance you get at this price, I don't see how it can be beat. The quick-fit-quick release air hose works just fine. The air gauge seems to be pretty accurate when checked against my digital hand held gauge. (Turn the compressor off, then read the built in gauge, you will get a more accurate reading).

The only minor complaint I have is that it doesn't come with a user/owner manual. It comes with a spare fuse, but where is the fuse? I'll tell you. Unscrew the tip of the power cord socket. Be careful tho, the spring and contact pin will fall out. Just stick the spring back into the contact pin and screw it back on.

The compressor comes with a very nice storage bag. It is only slightly difficult to get it back in the storage case. More of a whine than a complaint. Also, I wouldn't be too concerned about what some other reviews have mentioned with the 15 amp power outlet. The 15 amp outlet is only needed if you are going to be airing up high pressure tires, say over 40 psi. That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. There are some vehicles, such as my Honda CR-V, that must have the ignition switch turned on before the power outlet (formerly cigarette lighter) will work. So, keep that in mind if you have a Honda.

5 out of 5 stars Very nice   December 22, 2008
I needed a new tire inflator (the air hose on my 19 year old tire inflator crumbled).

I found it very useful having the tire connector screw into the tire nipple as opposede to the cheaper versions taht just clam down. This is becaus ethe rim caps on the tires sometimes made it hard to get a good connection.

The air guage is pretty accurate, but I use a Milton stand alone air pressure guage for a more accurate reading.

When you disconnect the air hose you do lose a bit of air. This doesnt bother me because I just fill it up a little more before removing the hose. I use a stand alone tire guage for a more accurate reading, adjusting.

The storage bag (case) is a bit snug, so it takes an extra 15 seconds to remove and put back, not that big a deal.

The only negative I see is I wonder if the battery connector is a little fragile. When I first plugged it into the cars cigarette lighter slot it didnt work. I resaeted it and then it worked.

Considering that these units lat for 10+ years, you might as well spend the extra $20 on a good unit like this, rather than a cheaper unit.

Execellent product. Quick, quiet and easy. Recommend it to anyone needing a tire inflator.

5 out of 5 stars Hard to beat!   December 16, 2008
Stop wasting your money on the low end compressors as I have. The Slime Comp06 is fast and can only be described as "Awesome"!
