This balm has an extremely heavy fragrance, which I don't mind because I don't wear perfume anyway, but the scent stays in your hair for a long time. For the most part I like that, but when you climb into bed and have this perfumey hair in your nose, that's a little tiresome.
As to the amount of hold, I didn't think it had that much. I have naturally curly hair that is quite curly, so I need hair products that are not wishy-washy. This stuff works well in conjunction with other products, but alone it just doesn't do the job.
If you don't need much hold, then this might be the perfect product for you.
